Sour Cream Spice Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup raisins, chopped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

1 _ Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening; lightly flour.

2 _ In large bowl, beat all ingredients except frosting with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.

3 _ Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.

4 _Frost cake with frosting.
